How to use

Guidelines

Refer to IS 6041-1985 Code of Practice for Construction of Autoclaved Cellular Concrete Block Masonry

The blocks should be embedded with a mortar whose strength is relatively lower than that of the blocks. This prevents the formation of cracks. A 1:6 cement-sand mortar is recommended. (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 3, 3.9.2)

These blocks do not need to be wetted before or during the laying process. If climatic conditions require it, the top and sides of the blocks may be slightly moistened. (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 6, 6.1)

For horizontal coping, use a height of 0.9 to 1.2 meters and vertical coping in every lift if the wall length exceeds 3 meters. Reinforce with two 8mm bars and M20 concrete. (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 4, 4.6.4, 4.6.5, 4.8.2)

Store the blocks in a manner that avoids any contact with moisture at the site. (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 5, 5.1)

Maintain a mortar thickness of 10 to 12 mm for cement-sand mortar (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 7, 7.1) and 3 to 4 mm for ready-mix mortar.

Groove the chases before applying plaster to the wall. Use an electric wall-chasing machine for zero vibration and high-quality work. Avoid creating chases on joints.

Required plaster thickness is 10 to 12 mm for internal walls and 15 to 17 mm for external walls. (Refer IS 6041-1985 Para 12)

Utilize wire mesh or fiber mesh for RCC-Masonry joints and coping.
